Homework for This Week

Good Saturday morning all!

Here's this week's homework assignments for those that missed out on class!

Bible Study: Week Five

Memorize Bible Study Week Five Memory Verse

Flexibility & Balance Training – Member’s Guide, pg. 205-206

Stress-Related Eating – Member’s Guide, pg. 86-87

Simple Ideas for Healthy Living book – pg. 21-22

Also, our instructor from Holy Yoga was unable to come today (her husband was coming back from Iraq this weekend!), so I will see if I can reschedule her for two weeks from today. I believe we have a Pilates class coming our way this next weekend (thank you Mary!).

Don't forget about Skateland on Monday night 6 - 8 pm!
This week's Memory Verse was from 1 Peter 5:8. "Be self-controlled & alert. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion eager to devour you." - or at least a close translation! :)

During today's Bible Study discussion, I remembered this video about lions that I was really fascinated with...how the lion's victims fight back. Pretty amazing video....

"The Middle"

Pastor Mark had a great sermon this past weekend on the crowds in Jerusalem (and how they welcomed Jesus with shouts of Hosanna! only to demand that he be crucified a week later).

What he focused on in the sermon was the concept of 'the middle' - with examples of things like when you start an exercise program, the beginning is easy - the end is easy - it's 'the middle' that gets tough...

Pretty much hits the nail on the head with First Place - and that's where resoluteness comes into play, where determination, and enjoying the journey as much as possible comes into play.

Missed the sermon? Here it is...

Now this is exercise I can get into...

Why can't life be like this - one big musical number...looks like a LOT of fun...

This is a pretty powerful video - what demons do we deal with everyday? What can we do with the power of Christ with us every single step of the way?
